The time has come to talk about many things…

The bizarre, inept and tyrannical response to what turned out to be a fairly ordinary flu virus, known as COVID, inspired me to start this Substack to vent my thoughts. Connecting with other dissidents and finding forbidden “misinformation” on platforms like Substack proved to be life- and sanity-saving during a very difficult time.

“Covid” may be a mostly-distant memory, but there are plenty of other societal ills to talk about. That’s sort of the theme of this blog, from a Christian perspective. For those interested more specifically in theology and Christianity, I write on those topics at Churchianity.

Why the name?

I love Lewis Carroll’s wonderful nonsense poem from Alice in Wonderland, “The Walrus and the Carpenter”, which includes the lines:

The time has come,' the Walrus said,

      To talk of many things:

Of shoes — and ships — and sealing-wax —

Of cabbages — and kings —

And why the sea is boiling hot —

      And whether pigs have wings.'

This has always seemed to me like a perfect description for a blog.
