On getting fined for coming back to my own country

After a two-day absence.

Last Friday I went to the States. It was my sister’s birthday and I wanted to take her out to dinner. I hadn’t gone since last October, and before that hadn’t gone for over two years amidst the chaos and confusion of covid border restrictions.

I came back on Sunday morning, crossing the border a little after noon. I had already determined I wouldn’t comply with any covid-related regulations. That meant no pre-arrival test, no filling out the ArriveCan app, no quarantine, no post-arrival test, and no answering of the question of whether I am “vaccinated”.

I was prepared for the fact that this meant I would likely be fined. And sure enough, that’s exactly what happened.

First I spoke to a CBSA (customs and border) official. On indicating to her that I wouldn’t answer her question about “vaccination”, and that I hadn’t filled out ArriveCan, she sent me to a secondary revision area where I had to wait for a Public “Health” official to come out and talk to me, once she’d finished with another group of immigrants.

I’m afraid I wasn’t as gracious with this Public “Health” official as I planned and hoped to be. She approached my car wearing a mask, the only person I saw at the border with one, and a red vest. I refused to answer her questions about whether I was “vaccinated”, told her that no, I hadn’t taken a pre-arrival test (why would I when no matter what I’d be told I had to quarantine for two weeks?), hadn’t filled out ArriveCan, would not quarantine, and would not take the two covid test kits she handed me.

So she went back into the CBSA building and came back with two tickets, written under the authority of the Quarantine Act. One, for $955, was for the crime of “Failure to answer a relevant question asked by a screening officer or quarantine officer or to provide the officer with any required information or record.” The second, for a whopping total of $6255, was for “Failure to comply with an order prohibiting or subjecting to any condition the entry into Canada”. At one point, eyeing me carefully, she informed me that if I was “vaccinated” I wouldn’t be given this larger fine.

Two things seem extremely obvious to me following this experience: one, that the government is doing everything in its power to coerce people into getting the covid shots. Secondly, that this was all a grand show. The Public “Health” official is basically an actress. Her mask and questions and fines and test kits are all geared toward maintaining the lie that covid is a uniquely dangerous threat that requires utmost vigilance and all citizens cooperating with all government mandates to protect them. And ultimately, this show and the fear it generates is designed with the aim of forcing as many people as possible to take as many covid “vaccines” as possible.

One wonders how long Canada will be able to keep up this charade now that most of the world has moved on. The answer seems to be, as long as the Prime Minister and his corrupt cabal of Liberal and NDP enablers can get away with it. Only economic and social pressure forced them to reluctantly drop their travel and federal employee mandates recently. They’ll hang on to the bitter end in their petty, arrogant, vindictive campaign against the last holdouts who stubbornly refused to do as they order.

I have to say that I am very proud of my fines and the “crimes” written on them. Yes, I failed to answer questions, and yes, I failed to comply with orders. I would be very ashamed of being fined or punished for any real crime, but I proudly admit to these made-up ones.
